The Center for Strategic Studies on Food Security in Border Regions conducts scientific research aimed at a comprehensive study of the state, factors, and mechanisms ensuring food security in Kazakhstan’s border areas.
The main goal of the research is to develop scientifically grounded approaches to improve state policy in the field of food security, reduce the vulnerability of regions, and strengthen the country’s food sovereignty.
Within the framework of the ongoing project “Improving State Policy on Food Security in the Border Regions of Kazakhstan: Challenges and Solutions”, research is conducted in the following areas:
- Analysis of the food security situation and food markets in border regions;
- Identification of socio-economic, environmental, and demographic factors affecting food system resilience;
- Assessment of the impact of state policies, programs, and strategies for the development of the agricultural sector;
- Study of cross-border aspects of food security and food trade;
- Development of predictive models and scenarios for sustainable regional development;
- Formulation of practical recommendations for improving mechanisms of state regulation and interregional cooperation.
The results of the Center’s research are reflected in scientific articles, analytical reports, expert opinions, and recommendations for government agencies. The Center’s scientific activities rely on an interdisciplinary approach, combining methods of economic, sociological, political, and geographical analysis.
The Center actively collaborates with domestic and international research organizations, fostering international partnerships and academic exchange in the field of food security and sustainable development.
